Samurai Beach Picnic Day

Yes... The Samurai Beach Picnic Day had finally come around again!
Coast and Valley Naturists again sponsored this great event.
Even though the weather didn't seem to be on the same side as us, like most naturists we weren't going to let a few dark rain clouds spoil our day!
By 10am the beach was starting to become filled by many familiar faces, all setting up their gazebo's, banner and any other structures that need erecting to make this event look the part. C.A.V.N members were there nice and early to get the official information gazebos up, along with setting up the events... Poor Bruce and Lisa from Bare Track were 1/2 erected whilst they were waiting for the rest of their crew to turn up to finalize their spot.
Loads of volunteers flocked to all give a helping hand.
The day kicked of with some of the old fashioned events... The Egg and Spoon race (or was it egg and ping pong race)which was sponsored by Sun and Health, with individual heats for men, women and children... they all produced a winner, who walked away with a 12 month subscription for one of Australia's top naturist magazines.
Then followed by the body painting competition, which seem to get the kids as well as their mum’s and Dad’s involved this was sponsored by C.A.V.N and winners took away a free family pass to their swim functions
Lunch was on and thanks to some of the CAVN cooks who slaved over a hot BBQ to produce great sausage sandwiches, along with nice icy cold cans of drinks!
The weather looked a little more threatening then first thought, so there was a change of plans to the timetable! Raffles were drawn just incase of a wash out! Thanks for many sponsors for the large
amount of prizes donated. There were DVD giveaways, overnight accommodations, magazine subscriptions and more!!!
With a slight spit of rain the sun decided to show its face for a little while and the events started off again.
Next, the dangling doughnuts suppose to be a kid’s event, but was soon challenged by a men’s heat and females heat. Christine from Kiata took out the winner for the female.
Next followed another oldie but goodie... the sack race sponsored by TAN. Again a winner from the men’s and women’s heat took away 12 month subscription to the TAN magazine.
Lastly an event that was one not for the faint hearted. the holy bucket race. Competitors had to run a short distance to the front of the ocean to collect water in a much holy bucket to race back and fill their matching coloured bucket. The one who filled it first was the winner... some fierce competition, again produced a few winners... They took home a family pass to CAVN swim function.
Well by 3pm and the weather again looking like it was about to release some more showers it was time to wrap it up... Again another fun filled day, already looking forward to 2011.
Thank you to all who joined in the events which clearly was another success, thanks to CAVN and their sponsors!
To the CAVN members who spend endless amounts of hours planning the event "A BIG THANK YOU... WELL DONE"
